Village Missions - VM Helping Fund - Keeping Country Churches Alive

Right in the middle of many dental appoinments over several weeks and costly dental work, we found out that our dental plan was being terminated because of the economy and needs for budget cuts. Thankfully the Helping Fund was there and was able to provide for the need. Thank you to all who donate to this fund.
God always provides!

Last year as we left conference, our van's transmission gave out. God was good and provided a quick replacement, but just 2 weeks later our car's brakes locked up and caused another very expensive repair bill.
We are so thankful that the helping fund was there to keep us from going deeply into debt...something no missionary can afford!

We are very thankful for the Helping Fund. Because of Larry's continuing eye problems our doctor bills have been adding up, then he had additional health situations. We are thankful none of them too serious. Along with other bills, we were struggling to make ends meet. We are very thankful for your help.

In the past few years, we have had multiple medical problems in our family. At one point I had an accident that resulted in a severe concussion. A week earlier, I had massive chest pain at summer conference. The following February, I had to rush Lisa to the hospital because they thought she was having heart problems. In all that year we accumulated approximately $8,000 worth of medical expenses after insurance. If not for the Lord using the Helping Fund to help drastically reduce our debt, I'm not sure we would have been able to continue serving the Lord as missionaries. Thank you very much!!

We have seen God supply over and over again, but when surprises come into our lives we still seem to panic and wonder what we are going to do? I'm reminded of the statement in the Bible "Oh ye of little faith".

In August of 2007 we had a visit from the sheriff, trying to find Mary. Mary had a brother living in Rapid City, SD who was very needy. Ron was alone in Rapid City, with no family in the area. The sheriff was looking for Mary to let her know Ron had died in his apartment and no one found him for several days. He was 56 and he died alone. So sad, but this was the life he chose. With Mary being the only family member who had anything to do with him, we knew we needed to make a trip to Rapid City, SD. We needed to clean out his apartment and get his belongings. We also wanted to give him a decent funeral. He had a few friends from the homeless shelter and I knew they wanted to say good-bye to him. We made the trip to SD and we prayed and asked God to supply what we needed. We were in contact with our District Represenative, Wayne Mick and he told us that the Helping Fund was there to help us when needs like this come up.

It is hard to ask, but we knew that Village Missions really wanted to help. This is what the Helping Fund is all about.
So we submitted our need to Village Mission's Helping Fund and we were helped. What a huge blessing this was to us. It took a big burden off of us, to say the least. The Helping Fund is wonderful, we know from experience. We want to thank the Mission and all who give willingly to the fund to make it possible to help people like us and other Village Missionaries who have unexpected needs. God Bless You.
